Bread
Butter
Sliced Cheese
Pesto and/or Sundried tomato paste
Btw, Here is my recipe for Pesto
Fresh Basil leaves
Tomato
Olive oil
Caesar Dressing (optional)
Thinly slice a tomato and separate out and wash a few fresh basil and spinach leaves.
On two slices of bread, spread some butter and some pesto or sundried tomato paste or both (you could put any herbal spread on it really). One piece of sliced cheese is enough for 2 slices of bread. Breat the cheese into smaller pieces and spread them evenly on the bread slices.
Heat a tawa (a flat pan, what you would use to make pan cakes on) on the stove. Once the tawa is hot, place the prepared slices on it, cover the tawa with a lid of some casserole and reduce the heat to minimum. Wait 3-4 minutes. Open the lid and you will find the bread perfectly toasted and the cheese deliciously melted.
Instead of the herbal spread, you could use tinned baked beans too.
Garnish with some fresh basil/spinach leaves, a slice of tomato and a dash of olive oil. Serve immediately, piping hot optionally with some caesar salad dressing on the side.

hmm the version with baked beans turned out really yum just tried it last night for dinner…it was mouthwateringly delicious..
Caesar dressing is made out of anchovies (FISH) !!! Bawa and Dinesh please check.
I love your recipes. Also Caesar salad usually has anchovies in it. Just like Thai green curry and red curry paste have oyster sauce and fish in them.
My dear Jy,
Caesar Dressing can be very easily be made without the anchovies and there are plenty of store bought veggie alternatives to the non veg Caesar Dressing that are available… The same goes for ayster sauce, infact most varieties of oyster sauce available in India are pure veggie. I read every single ingredient on the packet of any product that i use when i cook and i would suggest you do the same!
