Just Passing Through…

An American tourist went to Cairo to visit the famous Polish rabbi Hafez Ayim. The tourist was surprised to see that the rabbi lived in a simple, book-lined room, in which the only pieces of furniture were a table and a bench.

‘Rabbi, where’s all your furniture?’ asked the tourist.

‘Why, where’s yours?’ retorted Hafez.

‘Mine? But I’m just passing through.’

‘So am I,’ said the rabbi.

Jai Gurudeva!

I like to live out of suitcase too!~! However, since I like to purchase stuff, the size of suitcase needed expands and becomes 2 shelves, 1 table, and what not!

From the sublime to the comic….though there is a profound message out there….:)

    Rather Shakespearean…. there is a gradual build-up and then… suddenly …comic relief…before

the dramatic action picks up again….Really hooked on to your blog…Receiving a real education!

    Thanks. :) Take care. Jgd!

    JOURNEY OF LIFE

furniture and material is imp to the extent the man is attached or detached to it. it is indeed lovely to be in a clean sea beach or a spacious vast restaurant , but how valuble is that fleeting peace which is dependent on the surroundings and objects. culturing that state of mind which is stable and peacefull devoid of the atmosphere, seasons, surroundings, circumstances is of great value to life. it is not a one days job for me.

satsang in life to walk along is very precious , sharing, warmth, being one for another , discussing, learning , holding a hand, that u r there along this path is all very beautifull . seva when done togather is joy, we share .

life is a celebration …….. celebrate and be happy. life is not for brooding over or to live stuck . it is my duty to open up and seee and invite the beautifull things present arround me into my life.

discipline, tradition are present to sustain life but not to kill life in their name.

it may be joy to hold a hand and live through
or , it may be seva to hold a hand and walk through ….. for the person who is the priest in the story.

it is always joy to have a hand in a hand.
