Free Haircut!

I came across this on the net and thought it would make a really nice morning read :)

enjoy…

Jai Gurudeva!

bawa

One day a florist goes to a barber for a haircut. After the cut he asked about his bill and the barber replies, ‘I cannot accept money from you. I’m doing community service this week.’ The florist was pleased and left the shop.

When the barber goes to open his shop the next morning there is a ‘Thank You’ card and a dozen roses waiting for him at his door.

Later, a cop comes in for a haircut, and when he tries to pay his bill, the barber again replies, ‘I cannot accept money from you. I’m doing community service this week.’ The cop is happy and leaves the shop.
The next morning when the barber goes to open up there is a ‘Thank You’ card and a dozen donuts waiting for him at his door.

Later that day, a college professor comes in for a haircut, and when he tries to pay his bill, the barber again replies, ‘I cannot accept money from you. I’m doing community service this week.’ The professor is very happy and leaves the shop.
The next morning when the barber opens his shop, there is a ‘Thank You’ card and a dozen different books, such as ‘How to Improve Your Business’ and ‘Becoming More Successful.’

Then, a Member of Parliament comes in for a haircut , and when he goes to pay his bill the barber again replies, ‘I cannot accept money from you. I’m doing community service this week.’ The Member of Parliament is very happy and leaves the shop.

The next morning when the barber goes to open up, there are a dozen Members of Parliament lined up waiting for a free haircut.

And that, my friends, illustrates the fundamental difference between the citizens of our country and the Members of Parliament.

Vote carefully this year

    Not that hilarious!! :(

The more popular version of the joke is obtained by moving the story to USA and replacing the MPs with Desis living here!!

(You need not publish this comment. It goes against the very purpose of your post.)

If it was an Indian, then the next day there would be 25 Indian families, 8 invitations to dinner, 2 invitations to some Pooja or the other and a marriage proposal… which the barber will accept, get married to a nice Indian girl, who is a volunteer for the Art of Living course, do the course, and they would both live happily ever after! :)

I would suggest you do a DSN course, then you will really know the goodness thats prevalent in the general janta
I still maintain that there are just a few rotten people… and that most people on this planet are good wonderful human beings…
These rotten people unfortunately have come to be where they are bcoz the good people sit around and only complain and do nothing! So it’s simply time for us good people to act! and thats it!

dont ever dare generalize “badness” to people in society!

      Jai Gurudeva!

True.. Most people are GOOD and concerned, just that they are tagged as BAD by few, doesnt mean they are actually bad!!!

  19. Sandeep says:

Dear Bawa, I am Sandeep from South Mumbai, a YES!+ volunteer. Today I came accross the website of an independent candidate standing for Lok Sabha elections from South Mumbai constituency. She is Meera Sanyal, a successful banker, who is contesting against the heavyweight Milind Deora. I heard a stirring speech of hers on her website:

    http://www.meerahsanyal.in/

I think Milind, although a youth icon, has got his fair chance in the last 5 years and now, its time for change! This time, we should vote in Meeraji as our MP. We (our AOL family in South Mumbai) should whole-heartedly support her and campaign for her, just as we are doing it for Madhavji from Madha constituency. This can also be a good way to involve our YES!+ gems from South Mumbai to work whole-heartedly for a cause.

Finally, again, mine is a limited idea based on what I see and read from websites, you surely would know better. Kindly let me know what can be/should be done about this.

Love and Deep Graditude and Jai Gurudev!
    Sandeep
