Early next morning, we drove to Frankfurt and onto the flight for Stavanger… On the flight Guruji served us Upma and sandwiches that Urmila had packed for us… It felt so very special. And he kept asking after we were done, “aur chahiye?!” (will you have some more?!)… Reached Stavanger to a spirited welcome by the volunteers and teachers and then drove through lovely countryside to a beautiful room with the most amazing view at the Radisson hotel. Guruji gave everyone Indian sweets and Savories and then we went for a walk by the lake and on the streets of Stavanger.
WOW! Now that spectacular sight very few people on the planet would have experienced – the Guru walking with just 5-6 people on the streets (I was one of the wonderstruck walker-bys on NY streets during the UN Millenium Peace Summit). As we were strolling by the lake, couple of pristinely elegant white swans saw Guruji and they got pulled towards Him on the shore. Guruji got some bread and fed them as a mother feeds a little baby in the nest. Fred (friendly neighborhood photographer of the German Ashram) and I were gymnasticking to get good shots of the hallowed sight.
Then as we were walking along, there were some extremely cute pics of various animals on the sidewalk. Guruji liked one very much, not surprisingly, that of the elephants. He asked Fred to go back that a picture of the picture.

Then as he was told that the volunteers were staying at Hogne’s place, he said, “lets go there!”. Now what would you not give to get a surprise like that – answering to a door bell only to open and see none other than Guruji there?!
So we enter to this huge wave of astonishment and Guruji announces that he was hungry. So he took a few Avocados and involved me in making Gaucomole… Here is Guruji’s recipe.
Cut 3 avocados from the middle like you would a lemon. Remove the seed (you can choose to sow it in your backyard and a week later put the picture on www.itsmytree.net). Cleanly scoop up the green stuff (oxidation may turn it brownish, it is still ok to eat). Mash green stuff of 2 avocados and chop into very small pieces the green stuff of the third one. Squeeze the juice of one lemon into it. Season with salt and pepper (cayenne pepper packs quite a punch) and mix it gracefully with a few Om Namah Shivayas.
Serve cold with warm fuzzy love.
Guruji had a little and asked the rest to be shared with everyone. He only had avocados and artichokes for meals rest of his trip in Norway. Said he can do this only outside India!
